April 2, 2016: Easter Saturday

I will give thanks to you, for you have answered me and have been my savior. (Psalm 118)

As Catholics, we often fall prey to stagnation. Having just been through Holy Week and the Triduum, climaxing with Easter Sunday, we can think, “Well, it’s over for another year,” when that is the farthest thing from the truth. We need to take that momentum, that joy, that peace that was given to us these past days and share that with those we meet. Whether that is through acts of charity, works of mercy, instruction to others, or simply by our witness, we can’t fold our arms and say, “See you next year.” The acclamation we sing now is, “This is the day the LORD has made; let us be glad and rejoice in it.”
