Fr. Jeff Keyes, 25th Anniversary

Congratulations to Fr. Jeffrey Keyes, C.PP.S., who this year is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.

A native of Hayward, Calif., Fr. Jeffrey Keyes was ordained on October 26, 1991 in Oakland, Calif. While still a deacon, he was active in vocation ministry. After his ordination to the priesthood, he served at St. Barnabas in Alameda, Calif. He also ministered with the Congregation’s lay associates, called Companions, and at parishes.

In 1994, he became pastor of St. Barnabas. He also served in leadership in his province.

Beginning in 2001, Fr. Keyes served as interprovincial director of the Precious Blood House of Formation in Chicago. He also served on the coordinating team at Retrouvaille International and has led Retrouvaille weekends for the past 23 years.

In August 2004, Fr. Keyes became pastor of St. Edward Church, Newark, Calif. He is currently on sabbatical.

Also celebrating their 25th anniversaries this year are Fr. Dionisio Alberca, C.PP.S., of the Peruvian Mission, and Fr. Marco Tulio Recinos, C.PP.S., of the Central American Mission.

Fr. Keyes’ anniversary, along with the milestone anniversaries of other Missionaries of the Precious Blood of the Cincinnati and Kansas City Provinces, signifying hundreds of years of ministerial service to God’s people, will be celebrated in a special liturgy on July 1 at St. Charles Center.
