A fire in a row of houses in Valdivia, Chile, caused damage to the parish house occupied by C.PP.S. members serving there. None of our members were hurt in the blaze, which started in a neighboring house and expanded down the row. The Chilean Vicariate is in the process of determining the level of damage done by the fire, but that includes damage to the roof plus water damage.

Fr. Luis Briones, C.PP.S., who is the pastor in Valdivia as well as the director of the vicariate, was in Santiago for meetings at the time of the fire and was traveling back to Valdivia this morning. Deacon Diego Gallardo, C.PP.S., who is also in ministry in Valdivia, was not harmed in the fire.

Thanks to Fr. Antonio Baus, C.PP.S., for this update. Fr. Antonio adds, "After having been struck by fire at our church in Purranque in February, we are really beginning to believe that we are 'under fire.' Please pray for us."
