Calumet College of St. Joseph selects new president
Calumet College of St. Joseph welcomes its new president, Dr. Amy McCormack. The college is sponsored by the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
Following is a message from Larry Meyers, the chairman of the board of trustees of Calumet College of St. Joseph:
“We are pleased to announce that Dr. Amy McCormack will become the new President of Calumet College of St. Joseph effective July 1, 2017. After many months of interviews, meetings and surveys that involved input from the Board of Trustees, administration, faculty and staff, and the student body, Dr. McCormack stood out as the leading candidate from a pool of over 80 applicants. . . . I speak for the entire board of trustees of Calumet College of St. Joseph in welcoming Dr. McCormack to our college family.”
Dr. McCormack is currently the senior vice president for finance and administration at Dominican University in River Forest, Ill. Her appointment at CCSJ is effective July 1, 2017. She will replace Dr. Daniel Lowery, who will step down and, after a short sabbatical, return to the college as a full-time faculty member.
The board of trustees unanimously elected McCormack and the selection was ratified by the corporate board, chaired by the Very Rev. Larry Hemmelgarn, Provincial Director of the Cincinnati Province of the Society of the Precious Blood, which sponsors the college. The Missionaries also extend their gratitude to the current president, Dr. Daniel Lowery, who is stepping down. After a sabbatical, Dr. Lowery will return to the college to teach.
