We are counting down to the first Religious Brothers Day in the U.S., on May 1, the Feast of St. Joseph the Worker, by sharing stories about our wonderful C.PP.S. brothers.

Brother Tom Bohman, C.PP.S., who grew up on a farm in Osgood, Ohio, is in ministry at St. James the Less Parish in Columbus.

Brother Tom likes this story, which resonates with him: someone once asked a religious sister when she decided to become a sister. She answered, "This morning."

Deciding to follow your vocation "is a constant thing," Brother Tom says. You have to work at it, and pray every day to make a go of it. There are a lot of distractions and reasons to go in other directions, away from your spiritual life. It's also about community--and the people you meet along the way. I'm glad I joined the community I'm with. I enjoy being with them in community."
