The Missionaries of the Precious Blood are pleased to announce the 40th anniversary of the profession of Brother Joseph Fisher, C.PP.S.
Brother Joseph, 67, a native of Wapakoneta, Ohio, entered the Society in 1964 and was professed a religious brother on August 15, 1977. He has been a careful steward of the Society’s funds during his 40 years as a brother, serving for the last 30 years as the treasurer for the Cincinnati Province.
Brother Joseph served for 10 years as business manager at Brunnerdale, the Society’s former high school seminary near Canton, Ohio, before he was appointed provincial treasurer in 1987. Since 1994, he has also served on the provincial council, and prior to that, from 1978-1987, was a member of the C.PP.S. Senate.
Brother Joseph’s anniversary, along with the milestone anniversaries of 11 other Missionaries of the Precious Blood of the Cincinnati Province, signifying hundreds of years of ministerial service to God’s people, will be celebrated in a special liturgy on June 30, the vigil of the Feast of the Precious Blood, at St. Charles Center in Carthagena, Ohio.
“We look to these priests and brothers who are celebrating their anniversaries this year as examples of those who have faithfully listened to God's call,” said Fr. Larry Hemmelgarn, C.PP.S., provincial director. “They have said ‘yes’ to that call, and that in turn has led them to minister to the people of God in many ways, in many places. Their lives of service inspire us all.”
