PBMR on NBC's Megyn Kelly Today

Sr. Donna Liette, C.PP.S., of the Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation (PBMR) will appear on NBC’s Megyn Kelly Today on Monday at 9 a.m. EDT.

Sr. Donna will talk with Kelly about her ministry to mothers who have lost children to violence on Chicago’s south side. Also to appear on the program is Lisa Daniels, one of the mothers who often comes to the PBMR to take part in circles of mothers talking about what it’s like to lose a child. Daniels, whose son, Darren, was murdered three years ago, has formed a foundation in his honor.

Getting ready for her trip to New York for the live interview has been “crazy!” said Sr. Donna, whom we managed to reach while she was stopping to gas up her car in Chicago on Wednesday. She has a nonstop schedule so was happy to take a couple of minutes to talk while she was still at the gas station.

Camera crews have already visited PBMR to capture footage for Monday’s program, Sr. Donna said.

NBC is flying Sr. Donna and Daniels to New York on Sunday evening. An intern will pick them up at the airport and shuttle them to their hotel for the night then to the studio for their Monday morning appearance. Then, almost immediately, they’ll be on their way back to the airport for their flight home to Chicago, which is fine with Sr. Donna.

“I have to get back, we have a fundraiser to organize!” she said. The PBMR will host a hog roast for its supporters and for the neighborhood on October 1.

Also in ministry at the PBMR are C.PP.S. Frs. Dave Kelly and Denny Kinderman and Br. Juan Acuña, C.PP.S.; and Sr. Carolyn Hoying, C.PP.S.
