Few people hear the call of God as a clarion bell in their lives. For most of us, life in the spirit is an ongoing conversation with God, a conversation in which we must both speak and listen.

To discern the call of God to a consecrated life takes a spirit of openness, of discovery, of adventure. It is an uncommon path and those who take it must be willing to explore questions and experiences that take them beyond the surface of life to the very heart of God. A discerning heart enables us to sift through all the pieces of our lives with reverence and care, to sort through what is of God and what is not, what our gifts and talents may be and how we can best live as a son or daughter of God.

are available to walk with those who are considering
the consecrated life. We encourage those in
discernment to deepen their life of prayer and
self-examination. We recommend a lot of reading and
writing, talking and listening. We encourage those in
discernment to keep a journal of their thoughts and to
find a spiritual guide who can help them sift through
all their options.
