Some people look for signs. Some people wait to hear voices. Some people have known, deep in their heart, from a very early age. Some people struggle with the decision to even ask the first question.
People who are considering a vocation to the consecrated life as a priest, religious brother or sister can go about their search in many different ways.
One thing that really helps is to have a mentor or guide, someone who can talk things over with you and help you figure out how to get to or stay on the right path.
We also realize that parishes have different e-capabilities, so if you see something that you like on the Serra site, but you need it in a different format (such as a Word document), please contact Jean Giesige through our provincial office and she will work with you to get you what you need.
Thanks for pitching in with our vocation ministry efforts — we are all called to help young people who are discerning a call to the consecrated life as priests, brothers and sisters.
Our director of vocation ministries is Father Vince Wirtner, C.PP.S. (right). He is great at making connections with people and is an excellent listener. Communicating with Father Vince might help you with some of your questions.
You can reach Father Vince at firstname.lastname@example.org or on his Vocation Ministries Facebook Page.
Our pamphlet God Will Lead You More Places Than You Ever Dreamed Possible has more information for you.
If you are discerning a call to life as a priest or religious brother, you may want to read more about steps in formation with the Missionaries of the Precious Blood.
