During the Triduum, we’re pairing Stations of the Cross at various parishes where Missionaries of the Precious Blood are in ministry with thoughts from Missionaries about Lent, holiness, prayer and our connection to Christ. This station, Jesus is taken down from the cross, is from Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Montezuma, Ohio.
From Fr. Bill Nordenbrock, C.PP.S., moderator general of the C.PP.S. worldwide: “Can we walk the journey of Jerusalem with Jesus? Have you ever been as confused as the apostles – do we follow Jesus but not really want to go where he goes? Jesus’ journey to Jerusalem and the cross is the template of the journey of faithfulness. If you can’t see some semblance of this in your own journey of faith, you should be really suspicious. I you don’t see some semblance of the need to follow this path, you should ask yourself if you’re really following Jesus. Some giving up of our life for others, always, this is what communion and growth in our relation with God requires. Dying to ourselves, trusting in our resurrection. The way to God is always through the pascal mystery. Always through the resurrection. And like the apostles, it is not the journey I want to take. Yet that is the journey of faithfulness.”
