Please pray for the people of Guatemala, where our Missionaries are in ministry.
On Sunday, the Fuego volcano erupted, sending rock, gas and ash into the air, wiping out nearby villages. The volcano is 25 miles southwest of the capital, Guatemala City.
We believe all our Missionaries to be okay after the eruption, which has shut down the national airport in Guatemala City. Volcanic ash is falling on the capital city, where our Missionaries are also in ministry.
We’ve spoken with people in the La Labor region of Guatemala, which is north-northeast of the capital city. Some of our Missionaries are in ministry there. They are relatively unaffected by the volcano, though they were hit with a tropical storm last week that took roofs off several homes and businesses.
Guatemalan President Jimmy Morales has declared three days of national mourning.
