Born: Greenwood, Indiana
Joined the Missionaries:
I entered formation in August 1998 and was definitively incorporated in May 2003. I was ordained in June 2004.
What drew you to the Missionaries of the Precious Blood?
While discerning my vocation, I was struck with the “down to earthness” of the Missionaries and the variety of ministries they were involved in.
What is your current assignment?
After spending four years in Rome as the Secretary General, I was elected to Provincial leadership. I am serving the Congregation as the Provincial Director of the United States Province and I am stationed in Chicago.
What is the most challenging aspect of your assignment?
There are many meetings to attend, reports to write, fires to extinguish. The most challenging aspect, however, is not losing sight of my primary ministry of serving my brothers in community.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your assignment?
One of the most rewarding aspects of my assignment is the chance I have to interact with so many of the Missionaries and Companions in the Province. They are each a true blessing to the Church.
What did you do before joining the Missionaries?
I entered formation immediately following graduation from College.
What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?
In my spare time I enjoy reading, visiting museums, and just taking walks through the streets of Rome.
Aside from St. Gaspar, who are some of your favorite Saints?
I’d have to say St. Augustine and St. Thomas Aquinas are my other two favorite saints.
What is your favorite prayer?
My favorite prayer is actually a hymn. Hosea (Come Back to Me) is my favorite prayer and hymn.
Hosea
by Gregory Norbert
Come back to me with all your heart, don’t let fear keep us apart.
Trees do bend, tho’ straight and tall; so must we to others’ call.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new life.
The wilderness will lead you to your heart where I will speak.
Integrity and justice with tenderness you shall know.
Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new life.
You shall sleep secure with peace; faithfulness will be your joy. Long have I waited for your coming home to me and living deeply our new life.
What is your favorite:
Book: Ethan Frome by Edith Wharton
Food: Anything German
Movie: Remains of the Day with Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson
Holiday: Christmas Eve

How much money would you earn on Jeopardy?
At least $20,000,000.00.
Would you rather go skydiving or snorkeling?
Neither. I prefer the terra firma.
