A Christmas message from our Provincial Director Fr. Jeffrey Kirch, C.PP.S.
Of all the ways for a king to enter the world, as a tiny baby born to a poor family would be the last way you might picture it. But it changed the world forever.
The weeks leading up to Christmas were busy for me, with lots of meetings, travel and other obligations. Maybe it was the same for you. Knowing that Christmas was coming, that we would soon be celebrating the Prince of Peace, didn’t change all that. But it did give me an awareness that help was on the way—that help is always available to us, all we have to do is ask. Loving and following Jesus doesn’t mean that we won’t struggle and suffer. But it does mean that Jesus walks with us, guiding and strengthening us.
On this Christmas day and throughout the season, my prayer for all of us is an increased awareness of the goodness of God in our lives. May God’s light brighten all our days, and may the joy of Christmas uplift our hearts. Let’s celebrate how it changed the world forever.

Emanuel, Dios con Nosotros
De imaginar todos los modos posibles para que un rey entrara en el mundo, seguro que entrar como un pequeño bebe, nacido en una familia pobre, sería lo último. Pero esto ocurrió, y ha cambiado el mundo para siempre.
Estas últimas semanas que venían anticipando la Navidad se me llenaron de muchas reuniones, viajes y otras obligaciones. Talvez te ha ocurrido lo mismo. El hecho de que yo sabía que se acercaba la Navidad y que pronto estaríamos celebrando al Príncipe de la Paz, no me cambió nada de eso. Pero sí me dio la conciencia de que había ayuda que se me llegaba—aquella ayuda siempre está a nuestra disposición, lo único que tenemos que hacer es pedirla. Amar a Jesús y seguirlo no significa que no tendremos que luchar o sufrir. Pero sí significa que Jesús camina con nosotros, guiándonos y fortaleciéndonos.
En este día de Navidad, y a lo largo de este tiempo navideño, mi oración para todos nosotros es que se nos aumente la conciencia de la bondad de Dios en nuestras vidas. ¡Que la luz de Dios ilumine todos nuestros días, y que el gozo de la Navidad levante nuestros corazones! Celebremos el hecho que la Navidad ha cambiado al mundo para siempre.
