Staff members of the provincial office set out on May 13 to a jobsite in Dayton’s Meadowdale neighborhood, to work with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Dayton.
Nine C.PP.S. members/employees participated in the service day, which they dedicated to the C.PP.S. bicentennial. When they arrived, they were all given chores on the project, which was to build a privacy fence in the shady backyard of a Dayton family.
No matter what their skill level, the C.PP.S. folks pitched in and at the end of the day, the fence was built. The site supervisor reported to his office that it was “an awesome group of volunteers . . . They not only insisted that he run to Lowes to get the last six fence boards needed to finish the fence, but also weeded the beds, planted trees, and completely cleaned up the site!” Habitat for Humanity had not expected to finish the fence that day.

This was just one of many volunteer projects taken on by members, Companions and others in the Precious Blood family in our jubilee year. So far, over 2,200 volunteer hours have been logged in honor of the bicentennial.
